I think a lot of times being a Christian seems so hard for a lot of people. Some of the reasons may be that they feel like it is unattainable because sometimes we present it as being like that by putting do's and do not's on our messages. Some are confused as to whether Jesus drank wine or not... I can not say for 100% that he did or he did not... but this has nothing to do with our salvation. The Bible does not condemn drinking in moderation... really it does not. If you choose not to drink in moderation that is fine and if you do not that is fine also. Some are in confusion on whether homosexuality is wrong or right... the Bible is strictly against it and that is all I will say... but think about it.. anyone with any sense at all can see that it is morally, ethically, and spiritually wrong... we just attempt to justify it when it comes to someone that we love and they are homosexual. That is really a no brainer.. it is not normal to desire some one of the same sex. So if you are a homosexual or know one and condone it then I suggest that you study Gods word to see for yourself. If you are not.. then it has nothing to do with your salvation. Being a Christian is not hard work.. jesus already did all the hardwork for us. He just asked that we love and obey his word.. and it is for our own good that we do that... just because you hear 20 different things on what Gods want is no excuse for us to say that we cannot be a Christian... it is up to us as individuals to seek God for ourselves. When that day comes.. the judgement we cannot stand before God and say I did not accept you because so many people on the forum or other places confused me so I never really searched your truth out... because that will not be accepted. Many people are going to believe different things and have different views on things... so always remember that you as an individual need to search him out for yourself. Ome of us amy say that we cannot understand the BIBLE... I did not when I first started reading it.. but after doing it over and over.. it became real to me.. and I still do not understand all of it... but I search it out.. so I encourage you to start doing that. Some say they do not read it because the translations have been changed and we cannot be sure if it is the truth... I agree that some have been changed but I disagree with the motive in behind this thought.. and what it does is releive us of our responibility to study Gods word and grow in our relationship with him. Remember this if Gods word has been changed then we will not be held accountable for that... but trust me God is in control and his word still stands today... so please get you a good Bible and grow in your relationship with God. Some need to find logic in it but they do not... maybe this is because faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. See we are a people today that say show me, show me... The THomas was the same way... But I pray that we all come to a place where we can step out in faith and worship God. God says in his word to test his word and he will prove it to you... So what will it hurt? I say go ahead and you will be amazed of the results.
